Fresh New Fruit Landscaping installed a fruit garden and overhauled the irrigation system in Escondido, CA, in August 2025.
Site Conditions
The property had a backyard with grass and weeds, a two-station irrigation system needing an overhaul, and a front area planned for a fruit garden expansion of about 800 sq. ft.
Problem
The front and back yards had a worn lawn and an aging irrigation system. The homeowner wanted a low-maintenance landscape with fruit trees.
What We Did
Removed the grass and separated the roots to help prevent regrowth.
Hauled about 5 tons of waste to the dump.
Overhauled the two irrigation stations.
Added pressure regulators, filters, check valves, and ball valves.
Installed decomposed granite with stabilizer across about 1,000 sq. ft. in the backyard.
Planted 40–60 plants of varying sizes, including several fruit trees.
Covered planting areas with weed fabric and mulch.
Added borders and separation around the landscape areas.
Materials and system components included:
Decomposed granite with stabilizer
Weed fabric
Mulch
Fruit trees and other plants
Pressure regulators, filters, check valves, and ball valves
Result
The completed landscape replaced the worn lawn with decomposed granite, planted areas, fruit trees, and updated irrigation. The homeowner was happy with the results.
